Competing for Contracts
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
These workshops were the first in a series of four free workshops in this Winning Public Sector Business programme. The Competing for Contracts workshop was developed for businesses that are not yet registered on CompeteFor, or for businesses that are on CompeteFor but are struggling to get published.
This workshop highlighted all of the opportunities available to businesses at the London 2012 Games. With 75% of the work for the London 2012 Games due to be out to tender in the next 14-18 months, this is a huge area of potential for East Midlands businesses.
The workshop explained all about the CompeteFor portal, how it can help you to win contracts for the London 2012 Games and how to put your profile on the website. It also helped to improve your profile to improve your success rate.
The workshop covered the following main areas:
- Introduction to the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games
- Buying a better Games – the procurement vision which helped to win the bid
- Fit to Supply – reaching the top of your game
- Competing For opportunities
