The Midlands is home to one of Europe's most significant aerospace industry clusters. Aerospace systems designed and made in the Midlands are found on the most advanced aircraft built the world over. The Midlands is strongly focused on industry growth markets in civil aerospace, with more than three quarters of the region's aerospace sales going to the civil sector.

The core competency of the Midlands aerospace cluster is systems that power aircraft:
